A Sudden Inspiration
The first CD/EP for Kisshead is DONE!
So much love and time went onto making this happen.
We chose 4 of my songs to work on, recorded a few different versions, went to battle with them and came up with a cute/moving/catchy/trippy/glitchy sound to package them!
Leon Calero was the first main hero. Spending countless hours recording all of my parts (at his house and at our studio), helping me with form and arranging and being a total champion. The second hero of the day was Chris Irvine. An amzingly talented producer and friend from Sydney. I went up there and spent 4 days in his studio sitting next to him saying "YEs!" or "no...?" or just encouraging and making tea and treats...He added his wonderful production, which really gave the songs their stamp of individuality and the 'crunch' that I wanted.
It is so cool to be at this end of the process. I went thru some hard times, having a love/hate relationship with the songs...but finally I have something that I'm proud of...a gorgeously packaged CD to validate all of our hard work!

the beginning...
im making my first solo album at the moment, and that is what this blog will be about. the glorious band i am in is called K A Y A and we have released 4 Cd's in the last 4 years...but over that time i have been writing my little songs to document my life/feelings etc and now need to 'get them down' in a listenable and portable format (CD!) for my friends and supporters.
